Dear Monticello Student-Athletes and Families,
Effective immediately, all Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) athletics programs shall use ‘Remind’ as the only approved coach-to-student communication platform, in addition to ACPS 'k12albemarle' email. I have set up a Remind for every athletics program, and the full transition shall be completed by the opening of the second semester on January 5, 2026. As mandated by ACPS, team communication via Monticello's SportsYou groups will be disabled effective January 5.
To be clear – The use of Band, SportsYou, TeamSnap, SportsEngine or any other communication platform, including GroupMe, WhatsApp or standard text messaging, is NOT APPROVED by ACPS for coach-to-student communications. The ‘Remind’ app is available in both the Apple AppStore and the Google Play Store, and is available as a website at https://www.remind.com/.
I sincerely apologize for the multiple changes in processes. If you have any questions, need any support with athletics ‘Remind’ groups, or need assistance connecting with a coach, please let me know.
