Greetings, Mustangs!
With today’s return to Stage 4 of reopening for Albemarle County Public Schools, the Virginia High School League (VHSL) spring sports season will soon be upon us. With preseason workouts beginning today (March 15), and tryouts set to begin following Spring Break (April 12), I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you information and steps necessary for participation.
First, it is our mission to share the values of respect and fair play with every student, every day through participation in VHSL athletics and activities. Second, I’ll clarify that all VHSL athletics and activities are extra-curricular, therefore voluntary and optional for any student to participate. Finally, I encourage you to carefully review the information below and reach out directly to the coaches for sport-specific questions.
Best Regards,
Matthew Pearman, Sr.
Director of VHSL Athletics & Activities
